On receiving our new Gas Safe Registration certificate this week, we wanted to share a little more info on exactly what the Gas Safe Register is.

And explain the importance of it to the Gas Safe Registered engineers who visit your home to fix your boiler, service your boiler or install a new boiler for you.

What is the Gas Safe Register and why should YOU care? 🤔

In short, the Gas Safe Register is the only official gas registration body of gas businesses/engineers in the UK today.

It is illegal for a gas business to trade if they arent on the Gas Safe Register and it is dangerous for you to use a tradesman or tradeswoman to install, repair, or maintain your gas appliances if they are not Gas Safe Registered.

Our gas engineers are all aligned to Gas Angel (as a registered business) and are therefore issued with a license to undertake gas work on behalf of our company.

They hold a valid and current qualification that needs to be renewed regularly to keep up to date with the latest guidelines, laws, and technology.

Heating engineers gather evidence of competence relating to gas safety matters

This is obtained through the common route of training and assessment.

It is very much like the way the DVLA issues you with a driving license once you have proved your driving competence via passing your written and practical driving test.

The biggest difference here is that you only need to pass your driving test once – whereas gas safety testing is ongoing for Gas Angel Heating Engineers.
