Gas cooker installation guidelines
If you’re installing a new gas cooker, it’s important to make sure it’s placed in a way that’s going to be safe, and that’s not going to risk damaging any other fittings in your kitchen.
1 ) Spacing – leave a minimum of 300mm space around each side of your gas hob, ideally more, and at least 50mm between the hob and the wall. This will give you enough space for pan handles to overlap the hob without knocking into anything.
2 ) Placement – think carefully about where you place your gas hob, so it’s not a risk to people passing by or working in other areas of the kitchen. Don’t place it at the end of a worktop, by a door or under a window.
3 ) Cooker hoods – Make sure there’s a safe gap between your hob and your cooker hood – this should be a minimum of 760mm .
4 ) Get help – If you’re not sure about where to place your gas cooker or hob, it’s best to ask for help. Contact our gas cooker experts on 0191 289 3464 or message us today.
