New boiler or repair the fault?
Before making a decision, ask yourself the following questions:
) How old is your boiler? Boilers over 7 years old will develop faults quicker than a new boiler.
) Plans to move house soon? If so it may be worth repairing but remember a boiler failure around completion date could cause costly delays.
) Low boiler efficiency rating? Less than A then a new boiler can save money and energy.
) How long does your home take to heat? If it’s longer than you’d like it may be time to upgrade.
) What colour is your boiler flame? A yellow flame can be a sign of carbon monoxide which is dangerous and should be inspected straight away.
) Availability of boiler parts? The older your boiler the harder parts are to source which can mean bigger repair bills.
) Boiler leaking? Valves or seals may be broken and can result in flooding so get it checked out. If the leak can’t be easily repaired it may be time to replace.
) Boiler or radiators noisy? Banging or gurgling noises tell us something isn’t right and it’s time to get in touch.
