My first week at Gas Angel
We all know that moving to a new job can be daunting, lots of nerves and doubt going over and over in your mind. Funny thing is I feel absolutely fine, excited, in fact no nerves at all.
I have been given the role of Customer Service Administrator which involves me being first point off call for our lovely customers. Gas Angel pride themselves in always putting their customers first and going the extra mile to help solve any issues they have with heating in their home. Customers have always been my main focus in any job role I have done in the past so I can’t wait to transfer those skills over to Gas Angel.
This week I have gone through all the induction training and learnt some of the basics to help my understanding of the business so I can deliver excellent customer service to our customers. I still have a lot to go through but Rome wasn’t built in a day now was it!?
A great end to the week was attending the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) conference at The Biosphere centre in Newcastle, celebrating the women of STEM for International Woman’s Day – Gas Angel representing the “E”. I was shocked to hear that in the 1970’s women in the engineering sector was at 35% but this has drastically fallen to 25%. Hearing these figures today has given me even more of an incentive to work hard in this industry and progress within this company with the help of Amy and David.
Top tips I have learnt this week
1. Embrace change – It can be exciting.
2. How to turn on my very confusing PC – Yes, I know, worrying. But it was really confusing.
3. How to book in appointments – Go Me!
4. Being a women will not stop me from excelling in the engineering industry.
I am really excited for my future with Gas Angel because Amy and David have some amazing plans in place and I can’t wait to be part of that.
Looking forward to next week ?
